How it Works!
A metal bridge is installed above your existing embroidery machine/machines. The laser is 100% independent of the embroidery machine but at the same time works 100% in harmony with it.
You open your digitized embroidery file in the GMI laser driver and simply click and pick the lines or stitches you want converted into a laser cut.
For a simple appliqué all you need to do is select the running stitch that tacks down the appliqué and make an offset of 1mm or 2mm outside or inside. Then tell the laser that you want it to CUT or ETCH this line.
When you save the file you now have a new DST file. This disk is used on your embroidery machine instead and has the information for your embroidery machine to frame out so that the laser can run by and cut or etch.
By pressing a button installed under the embroidery machine (just like a button at a crosswalk) your operator is calling for the laser to come and do its thing.
The laser takes a few seconds to do its work at each head and your operators can pull off the embroidery hoop and clean it elsewhere. There is no more stopping your embroidery machine to lay down letters one at a time!
By watching some the videos you will get a really good idea of how things work. You can also call us for a detailed kit, video and samples by going to the contact pageand filling out the form with your information.
Machines in Action!
Here you can see a series of different installations. Regardless if you are a small embroidery shop with a 6-20 heads or a large shop with hundreds of embroidery heads and dozens of large format machines. There is a GMI laser for every size business and they start as low as $5 per hour on a lease to own basis.
The laser FX is a compact no frills no bells and whistles just pure simplicity and performance. It’s a quick and easy installation and does not require three phase electricity or any special electrical needs or demands. It can fit into some of the smallest embroidery shops both physically and financially.
The laser bar itself is 6.5 meters long or 21 feet and perfect for a 6 or 8 head embroidery machine. For approximately $17,000-$19,000 more we can include a 6 or 8 head wide field embroidery machine with a 3 year a warranty. This means that the smallest business can now compete against some of the most advanced players in the market for a fraction of the price. Why buy a $45,000 6 head name brand embroidery machine when your stitch count is only going to be 10%-20% of what it is now!
You need a reliable machine from a good manufacture, an embroidery machine with all those features only costs that much. Again I want to reiterate, you don’t need the best embroidery machine in the world anymore if you are going to be using it only 10-20% of what it was designed to do. YOU NEED RELIABILITY and great quality stitching, period. Besides with a 2 or 3 year warranty option you have no worries!
GMI laser is the first and the largest laser producer in the world. They invented the laser in 1999 and hold the most patents and most innovations. To date any feature on a competitive laser is a derivate of a GMI innovation.
GMI laser has more than 50% market share in Italy and more than a third of all bridge lasers in the world are GMI.
As of 2008 GMI is on its third generation of lasers. Today all 5 models of lasers used 100% CAN BUSS technology. This means every board used is no longer proprietary. Each one has an internet connection and can be programmed and diagnosed by the internet in the event of an issue or as upgrades become available.
All GMI lasers carry a two year manufactures warranty!
